Biography:

Professor Rajat Gupta is a highly accomplished Consultant Paediatric Neurologist, currently serving at the Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. He holds an MBChB degree in Medicine from The University of Manchester, and further specialised in paediatric neurology with additional qualifications, including DCH (Diploma in Child Health), MMedSci (Master of Medical Sciences), PGCMedEd (Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education), and FRCPI (Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland). He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH), a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and holds an RCPathME (Royal College of Pathologists Medical Education) qualification.

In addition to his clinical work, Professor Gupta holds several academic and leadership positions. He is an Honorary Professor at Aston University and the University of Birmingham. He serves as the Head of Specialist Clinical Teaching Academy and Deputy Lead for Paediatrics at the University of Birmingham. He is also the Programme Medical Director for the Pharmacist Independent Prescribing PgCert at Aston University. Professor Gupta's contributions to medical education are evident through his role as Deputy Co-Chair of the Medical Academic Staff Committee at the British Medical Association (BMA).

As a consultant paediatric neurologist, Professor Gupta has a wide range of interests and expertise. He specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as epilepsy, headache disorders, movement disorders, tics, cerebral palsy, gait abnormalities, chronic fatigue syndrome, non-epileptic attack disorder, chronic regional pain syndrome, syncope, faints, and immune-mediated neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders.

With over 18 years of experience in his field, Professor Gupta continues to make significant contributions to paediatric neurology through his clinical practice, research, teaching, and leadership roles.
