Biography:

I qualified as a doctor in 2001 and work as a Consultant Psychiatrist in NHS and Independent Sector. I am fully registered with the GMC as a medical practitioner, Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.(GMC Number 6111570)I have been a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since 2011 and have worked with children, young people and their families for over 12 years. My particular areas of interest are Neurodevelopmental disorders (Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD), Anxiety, Depression and sleep difficulties. I believe in working with children, young people and their families to make a significant difference by providing comprehensive assessment and early intervention at a critical time in their lives.I am skilled and experienced in assessing and managing common, rare and complex psychiatric and behavioural disorders of the child and adolescent population. I have worked in the inpatients and outpatient mental health services. I am particularly interested in the psychopharmacological management of Neuro-developmental disorders (ADHD,ASD, Tourette’s), eating disorders, Self-harm, Anxiety and Mood disorders. I am a Member of the RoyalCollege of Psychiatrists. Throughout my career I have received awards and accolades; MBBS with honours and Alexander Mezey Award by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.My experience is highly diverse due to vast experience as lead for Crisis and Eating Disorder teams and supervising the Autism and ADHD clinics throughout my time in NHS. This has led me to assess and treat young peo ple with diverse presentations.I am committed to Medical Education  as Clinical Tutor and Lecturer on the MRCPsych course.I have Post Graduate Certification in Medical Education from Cardiff University. I am an Examiner for Birmingham University MedicalSchool and Tutor for Aston Medical University and Higher Trainer for those specialising in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I believe in patient focused care and evidence based treatments.I have several publications and presentations  at National and International Psychiatry conferences (on topics including ADHD, Autism, Eating disorders).I strongly believe that working with children, young people and their families provides an opportunity in making a significant difference to their lives. An early intervention and treatment at critical time is possible with the potential for making a lifelong difference.
