Biography:
I have worked as consultant psychiatrist for more than 2 decade and in helping patients and their families with illnesses where depression, anxiety, eating disorder, OCD, Psychosis likeSchizophrenia and Bipolar affective disorder etc (to name a few) are the main feature. I believe that successful treatment requires an understanding of the whole person and that every patient is an individual with their unique personality and medicines are only one way to help.
I have kept a diverse portfolio of professional interests in life : I am currently working as consultant psychiatrist in Black Country Health Care NHS trust and has held senior management responsibilities like Clinical Director/Joint Medical Director until recently .My role as trainer contribute in development and teaching of medical students as well as doctors in psychiatry. In 2008, I was elected a Fellow of the RoyalCollege of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych) – this is awarded as a mark of distinction and recognition of contributions to psychiatry.
My special interest is helping people especially couples with relationship problem where I use variety of psychotherapeutic approaches ranging including CBT, Systemic and Psychodynamic in resolving the issues.
