Further Information

Your doctor may recommend these tests

Some tests are clinically indicated, which means doctors may recommend them if you meet certain conditions.

Full blood count
We’ll look at the levels of different cells in your blood, which can help detect a variety of conditions.

Kidney, liver and thyroid function tests
Depending on your earlier test results, your doctor may want to take a closer look into how these organs are performing.

Vitamin D, Coeliac, Ferritin, B12, Folate
We’ll also check levels of these vitamins and proteins to give you a picture of any potential health risks.

ECG
We’ll check electrical signals from your heart to look for potential problems.

Prostate Specific Antigen blood test (PSA)
If you’re over 50, we can help detect problems with your prostate. You may also get this if you’re over 45 based on factors such as family history or ethnicity. Your doctor will discuss this with you.

Cervical cancer screening
For those over 25, we can look for early signs of cervical cancer.

Bowel cancer screening
Recommended for over 45s, we can carry out a qFIT stool test for any bowel cancer symptoms.

What we’ll discuss with you

We’ll help you set goals for the future and organise any next steps you might need.

Mental health assessment
After your mental health review, we may recommend more support. If necessary, we’ll discuss any next steps to help.

Up to an hour with a GP
Your doctor will conduct a physical examination (with your consent) and discuss any other health topics you’d like to talk about. They may also recommend any further tests and help set goals to improve or maintain good health.

Goal-setting and lifestyle changes
We'll help you set goals and areas to focus on in your health and wellbeing journey. We'll base these off your assessment results and the time with your health adviser, so they're tailored to you.

After your assessment

We’ll help you achieve the goals you set with 12 months of support.

Access to your results

We’ll send you a detailed report of your results that you can see anytime you need to in My Bupa.

If we have sent any tests to the lab for results, your report will be updated once we receive the results. If there’s anything that needs urgent action, we’ll try to call you to discuss these.
